Camping the easy way | Travel information and news

If you have decided to head to France for a camping break but are the type of person who has to pack everything but the kitchen sink when they are living under canvas, don?t worry. You are not going to have to break the bank in excess luggage charges or forsake the comfort of sleeping in a ?proper? bed. The answer to your problem could be to book a holiday with one of the various companies which specialise in pre-erected tents which are kitted out with everything you could possibly require for a comfy camping experience. No need to run from tent sale to tent sale and look for the perfect one ? just book your trip and the tent is already there.

Each company varies to a certain extent in what they offer but even the basic type of tent offers separate living accommodation and at least a couple of bedrooms, beds with legs and mattresses, patio furniture, cooking facilities, refrigeration and electric lighting. You may, however, have to provide your own bedding so check carefully when you book.

If you have always had ambitions to experience a touch of Africa then the Safari tent offered by one of the companies might appeal. Complete with wooden decking, wooden sun loungers, wooden dining furniture, rugs and electric heating you could almost imagine you are in the Serengeti.

Many of the sites have great leisure facilities such as swimming pools complete with water slides, spa, sauna and jacuzzi, games rooms with games such as pool and table football, and TV rooms with Eurosport.

With the well equipped ?kitchens? in the tents and the great variety of fresh and tasty produce available in France you may well decide to cook. However, if you want a break from feeding the hungry hoards, most sites will have a good variety of restaurants from the more sophisticated to the pizzeria and creperie.? Most also have an onsite bakery so you don?t even have to venture far to get your breakfast baguette and croissants.

Don?t forget about life outside the site though. Most sites are within easy travelling distance of interesting towns, beautiful scenenery, or great beaches.
