Get Up and Go This Weekend: Outdoor Sports For One ?

Look into an active outdoor sport that can be done in your area, such as mountain biking, kayaking, or trail running. They can be great alternatives to team sports if you want to get some solo exercise or are looking for something new.

Are any other teens or young adults you know doing an activity you?re interested in? Ask whether they can show you the ropes. (If the sport you?re interested in is rock climbing, for instance, they might literally show you how to use the ropes, harnesses, helmets, and other necessary equipment! Keep in mind, however, that although you can go to a climbing center on your own to learn this activity, never go rock climbing outside by yourself.) Look into lessons on these activities and others at a community center, Boys & Girls Club, YMCA, or parks and recreation department summer program.

Or are you the expert? See whether you can share your knowledge with others by teaching a class!
