After the international success of Chilean artists Javiera Mena, Gepe, Odisea, and Denver last year, music fans have high expectations for the future of Chilean pop. Adrianigual, hailing from the capital city of Santiago, is the country's breakthrough disco-rock band, and they've delivered the first essential Chilean record of the year.
Adrianigual grabbed some local attention a few years ago with their debut EP Baila Baila Canta, an widely overlooked record that placed the band as Chile's best-kept secret for years. The band is hitting the dancefloor once again with its first full-length album, Exito Mundial (Global Success), and is funkier than ever.
The album opens with the upbeat "Arde Santiago" ("Santiago Burns"). The lyrics say "When the sun falls down, the lights will guide me," and the whole album celebrates nightlife rapture. Likewise, the first single "Me Gusta La Noche" ("I Like The Night") is a song about giving yourself up to the the night ? and dancing as a way of survival.
Behind the ambitious, rymthically complex soundscape is an equally ambitious producer: Alex Anwandter, who was also the man behind last year's celebrated pop outfit Odisea. Anwandter is a master at crafting disco haze, something very noticeable in tracks like "Siglo XXI" ("21st Century") and "La Agente" ("The Agent"), tracks that are danceable while emotionally deep. In the gorgeous "Sudamerica," they almost sound like classic Chilean rockers Los Prisioneros ? and that's a compliment. Like many of their peers, the members of Adrianigual show they come from a Chilean tradition of alert storytellers exercising personal songwriting through approachable rhythms.

Lo Nuevo De Adrianigual: Chile Contin?a Produciendo El Mejor Indie Pop De America Latina
Musicalmente, el 2010 le perteneci? a Chile: fue un a?o repleto de ?xitos internacionales para artistas chilenos como Javiera Mena, Gepe, Odisea y Denver, dejando a los fan?ticos del indie pop latino a la espera de nuevos y brillantes artistas Chilenos en el 2011. Adrianigual es una banda de Santiago que acaba de darnos el primer gran ?lbum chileno de 2011: ?xito Mundial, una despampanante mezcla de m?sica disco y rock.
Hace un par de a?os la banda debut? con el EP Baila Baila Canta, un ?lbum que no recibi? la atenci?n merecida. Por mucho tiempo Adrianigual permaneci? siendo un tesoro escondido en la escena musical chilena. Ahora ya no es secreto: la banda esta invadiendo las pistas de baile, y suenan mejor que nunca.
El ?lbum comienza con la canci?n "Arde Santiago", que canta: "Cuando el sol cae, las luces me guiaran", un buen principio para un ?lbum que es una gran celebraci?n de la vida nocturna. "Me Gusta La Noche", el primer single del disco, es tambi?n una canci?n acerca de entregarse a la noche, y bailar para sobrevivir.
Detr?s de este proyecto ambicioso y complejo, encontramos un productor famoso por su ambici?n: Alex Anwandter, que tambi?n el a?o pasado cre? la celebrada banda pop Odisea. Anwandter es un arquitecto de m?sica disco, y eso se nota en canciones como "Siglo XXI" y "La Agente", que son bailables y a la vez profundas. En la bella canci?n "Sudam?rica", suenan como la cl?sica banda de rock chileno, Los Prisioneros, y es porque como tantos otros m?sicos de esta generaci?n, los integrantes de Adrianigual surgen de una fuerte tradici?n de perspicaces cantautores chilenos. Logran transmitir sus mensajes atrav?s de ritmos infecciosos.
